Commercial kitchen exhaust hood installation

Installation location selection

1.Distance from stove

The fume hood should be installed directly above the stove, and the vertical distance from the stove should be kept within a reasonable range, generally 60 cm to 90 cm. If the distance is too far, the oil fume will spread, making it difficult to effectively collect it; if the distance is too close, it may affect the normal use of the stove and be easily affected by the high temperature of the stove.

Location of range hood and stove

2.space layout

Consider the overall spatial layout of the kitchen to ensure that the cook’s operations and the storage of other equipment will not be temporarily blocked after the oil hood is installed. At the same time, make sure there is enough space around the fume hood for cleaning and maintenance.

3.ventilation conditions

The installation location should be conducive to ventilation and avoid installation in dead corners or places with poor airflow. Good ventilation can improve the exhaust efficiency of oil fumes and reduce the residence time of oil fumes in the kitchen.

Installation solidity

1.Fixed method

Commercial hoods are typically larger and heavier and require secure fixing. Generally, expansion bolts can be used to fix the oil fume hood to the ceiling or wall to ensure that the installation is firm and reliable.

2.load bearing capacity

Before installation, check whether the load-bearing capacity of the installation location meets the weight requirements of the oil fume hood. If the load-bearing capacity is insufficient, reinforcement measures need to be taken, such as installing load-bearing beams.

3.stability check

After the installation is completed, carefully check the stability of the oil fume hood and gently shake the oil fume hood to see if there is any looseness or shaking. If there is any problem, the fixing method should be adjusted in time to ensure that safety accidents such as falling of the oil fume hood will not occur during use.

Pipe connection

1.Pipe size matching

The diameter of the exhaust pipe of the oil fume hood should match the diameter of the air outlet of the fan to avoid the situation of the pipe being too thin or too thick. If the pipe is too thin, it will increase the exhaust resistance and affect the discharge effect of oil fume; if the pipe is too thick, it may cause the wind speed to decrease, which is also not conducive to the discharge of oil fume.

2.well sealed

The pipe connection parts must be well sealed to prevent oil fume from leaking. Sealants, gaskets and other materials can be used for sealing to ensure that there are no sockets at the connection.

3.Pipeline direction

The direction of the exhaust pipe should be as short and straight as possible to reduce bends and turns. Excessive bending will increase the exhaust resistance and reduce the exhaust efficiency. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid collisions between the pipeline and other equipment or structures to ensure the safety and stability of the pipeline.

Electrical connection

1. Power supply matching

The electrical equipment of the oil fume hood (such as lighting fixtures, fans, etc.) should choose the appropriate power supply according to its power requirements. Ensure that the voltage, current and other parameters of the power supply meet the usage requirements of the equipment to avoid equipment damage or safety accidents caused by power mismatch.

2.Ground protection

Electrical equipment must be grounded to ensure safe use. The grounding resistance should comply with relevant standards and is generally not greater than 4 ohms.

3.Line layout

Electrical circuits should be arranged reasonably to avoid contact with high temperature parts, flammable items, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the insulation performance of the lines is good to prevent leakage accidents.
